Pencheval thought his risks and travails were finished at long last. A summer of battles has earned him a goblin horde in revolt, the rescue of a friend, and the newfound respect of his allies. With all seemingly in hand, he believes the horde will break itself against The Shield of Athesiene, a mighty fortification none have ever captured.
Yet unknown to him, the horde forged an alliance with a Clan riding miniature dragons. They rain fire from the skies and render the castle’s defenses worthless. As defeats exceed victories, the approach of the horde looms over the weapons and morale burned to ashes.
